Shadow collection #38 (October 22nd)

Weirdos =P A new day, and as usual, a new experience. Even as the days seem to blur in monotony, there is always something new, something unusual, and something completely unexpected. The something always falls somewhere on the spectrum of importance to whomever it occurs, and for this reason, we don't always realize that a something has just happened. Today a something happened to me. It was one of those unusual out of place moments that shake up your foundation of reality. One of those moments that picks the safe little comfortable shack of your life up in the air, and smashes it back down somewhere completely unfamiliar. These kind of moments land high enough on the scale of importance to not only make a dent in our safe little havens, but obliterate good portions of it. As gloomy as a save heaven made unsafe may seem, the other side of this event shines ever so brightly. By breaking down the walls, the tornado sets us free to glimpse all roads of life, and that's w...

Shadow collection #37 (October 11th)

It was a tea kind of a week Haunting Shadow magazine, second issue. No way! Two consecutive blogs??? In a row??? Consecutively??? Someone must have discovered the Zelda timeline... But.. That doesn't work as a saying anymore, does it? THANKS HYRULE HISTORIA. THANKS. (very sorry, all .5 of the 1.5 people who read this, who have an absence of a clue what anything above meant) Still asleep morning babble - Man, up until exactly two minutes ago, since the moment I "woke up" and sleep stumbled into the shower, the time has been designated as too early o'clock. By the government. That governs my brain. HI BRAIN GOVERNMENT! THANKS FOR ALL THE HARD WORK! You know, when too early o'clock has officially shifted to "things are way cool looking up in the sky" o'clock, four minutes ago, I suddenly looked up, and the brain government has instantly decided on the name for the period of time. Its fantastic out here. The sky is full of pinkish p...

Shadow collection #36 (September 30th)

Many funs were had at the Puyallup Fair! Hello my dear friend! We meet again! But at the same time you've never left my pocket in the first place, phone. I just haven't written things using your writing things apps. It's been an unproductively productive ten months since we've talked last, and for that I apologise. Stuff got in the way. It tends to do that. Well, onwards and outwards we go in the exploration of the shadows! Today we are returning to the shadow roots. No more insane photograph dumps this time. Those got old fast. Those burnt me out and got me out of the habit of blogging real words and coherent thoughts. It was during the times when I was absolutely undecided and immature, heading in all the wrong directions and doing all the wrong things, and suspecting nothing of it. Those were the days, when we were yound and so very stupid, says a young and still a stupid and such an unexperienced person. We'll see how things go on. I hope all is well, m...

The Shadows of the Past. An Introduction to the Shadows of the Now

The previous shadows still on my phone's home screen, still haunting. "Haunting Shadows 02/07," the tile reads. I tap the purple square that represents my blog, and am greeted by a long list of things, most of which make no sense to anyone but me, and most of which aren't really fun to read. The square has become my go to for notes, for that book title I needed to memorize, that random idea I had to record, the email address I had to contact. It became boring and mundane, and full to the brim of 7 months straight of random chatter, so I'll post things which were best of the best of the blog. Actual completed thoughts, comprised of sentences, while avoiding the dry and boring facts that the page is littered with. Ill begin at the most recent, and move to the earliest of posts... Let us begun with the most recent short idea I had had. An idea had after deciding to no longer create films. A short idea dropping into my brain with great force and causing a splash,...

Shadows. They be Haunting.

So I've decided to destroy absolutely everything that I had going for me in life, and once more slam down on the good old reset button. I've decided to suddenly grow up, and leave the childish, unfortunately unnecessary, and unfortunately elusive comfort of my film school, because of the sudden realization I had about it's only task. All it ever did, was give me the illusion of protection, it presented me with a thin veil which guarded my daily habits, the routines and notions formed in the simple and glorious days of my childhood. It kept on trying to drilling into my mind the notion that I will always succeed, and more importantly that I NEEDED it more than anything to do so, to get a job, and to seamlessly transition into yet another set of habits, but in my head, that kind of thinking is far from right.      Me and the good old reset button go a long way back. I first encountered it in seventh grade, when I had to lose my friends, my ...

The Biggest Demon, a five minute write-up

Only when I run out of things to entertain my very broken and illogical self, do I sit down and create. This is a very backwards way of thinking and I wish I could create constantly, and be a consumer of media only when I blindly stumble upon a writer's block too vast for me to simply walk around. One of those mountains which you can only conquer by climbing, always facing the danger of falling off and hurting yourself beyond repair. I wish that only then I had the time and the need to entertain myself, to prepare for the big climb. To get ideas and to gather tools. But it seems like the demon, the biggest demon of them all is trapped in an eternal struggle against this ideal image. Lazy lazy lazy me...

Brainstorm

Not really blog material, but I needed to save this somewhere. A man in his twenties... Nick? Dom? James? James.... is minding his own business. Can be anywhere and any time. Daytime. He is average in every single way, doesn't have any strange quirks, just a semi nerdy kid, who have seen quite a few sci-fi films. Maybe do a montage of the kid minding his own business, maybe hanging out with friends, but have a single re-occurrence  in each of the scenes. a stranger is in the background of all of them. and in a few of them, especially when he is alone, James notices the pattern. The person might seem a little surprised that James is looking at him, and might look behind himself to make sure that James isn't looking at something/one else. When James is alone, and is walking home, he notices that someone is behind him once again. He might see a shadow... this would be a great night alley scene, but lighting it would be a bitch. He tells the figure that ...

Fiction in Five Minutes

As Will left the building, his head was spinning with disjointed thought. Was the old man crazy? Was he playing out some elaborate scam? Was there even a remote chance that the unbelievable stories, which he spend the past few hours telling, had any truth in them? His good friend did warn Will of the man's utter insanity, but his curiosity was too strong.          William entered the building around 3pm, and headed for the door which had 121 scratched into it with something sharp. As soon as he raised his finger up to the bell, the door swung open and an energetic old man told him to come in. As Will entered the apartment, a strange scent hit his nose. It was an unusual mix of wet autumn leaves, tree bark, and the sweet smell of something slightly rotten. As they entered the living room... To be continued...

Once more unto the breach dear friends, on-*gets shot

One more post to add to the collection of my seemingly daily blogs (trust me they are not, or at least wont be as soon as I get tired of spending five minutes to write up anything at all. Yep, that lazy). Time. The most generic "smart" sounding topic for people to talk about, and yet find absolutely no answers, no matter how deep they dig in the shallow mud puddle that is our limited notion of the subject. I could have easily spent these five minutes talking of my fascination with time, and once again reciting all of the limited findings, but that would be as useful and as exciting as watching paint dry. But really, does paint dry when we are not observing it? Does it even exist? With the entirety of the universe around us and the way we perceive existence, being created by the never ending stream of vomit that is our internal monologue, is there really anything outside of perception? Yet another question unanswered. No better than time. Peace out.

Ooooh Salvador

Today's five minute is inspired by my co-worker Salvador. He is a Mexican guy who understands me better then most people at the meat shop. He is very intelligent, and the fact that he is from a different country, helps us connect. We are always debating about science or religion, or spirituality, or films, or news stories, or whatever, and it always makes the work day pass by much quicker. There are always differences though. While we come from 2 opposite sides of the planet, our cultures turned out to be almost identical (which was a surprise to me), even though we always kid around, and act like absolute racists towards each other, just for fun. Interestingly enough, the topic which is debated the most, is that of religion, the reason being our absolute opposite stances on it. This topic always results in us raising our voices trying to talk over each other, and crazy arguments, and yet its something that makes our lives here at Fischer Meats more exciting. ...

Five Minutes

I am not quite sure why I am writing anything at all, as I only have 5 minutes to do so and then will have to go back to work. Here I am though, in front of this recently blank window, filling it with random blabber, and wondering whether this is one of the more pointless things I've done today, even though that point is easilly debatable. My job is utterly pointless as well and yet here I am, preparing people's food all day long, cutting it up into smaller, more manageable portions for all to devour and then dispose of days later. I guess I'm helping the world economy to keep on flowing, and I'm satisfying the hungry customers with juicy stakes, and yet that doesn't make it any less pointless. I don't get to eat any of the meat that I cut up, and the money I make is mostly wasted on things without which my life would have been equally complete.       Ah, look at the time. Five minutes have...

Tattoos

I just had a strange need to assemble a few photos of girls with ink. This could or could not have something to do with proving a point to someone who might or might not exist.
